It's Fair Season!! It's that time of year when once again we are seeking volunteers and contributions to help promote the Constitution Party of Wisconsin message by putting our name in front of people at your local County Fair, as well as the many other festivals and events where our CPoW booth can be set up. Because this is an off-election year we have scaled back the number of fairs we plan to be in. However, we still need your commitment of time and finances to ensure we are able to participate in what the State Committee has identified as the choicest locations this summer. On the last page of this letter you will see a list of fairs we plan to be in along with the name of the coordinator for that fair and their contact information. If you are able to help with a financial contribution please do so and if you are able to assist in manning the booth in your area please contact that coordinator and let them know. You will notice that not all the fairs have coordinators. In the past our own Linda Clark has done the majority of the organization for this project. Last year she let us know that she would not be able to continue in that capacity so we have given the responsibility to District Representatives or the local CPoW chapter, if one exists. Your help is needed to make sure our presence is secured in the fairs listed. Some have waiting lists and to miss even one year would mean several years without our booth in that fair because our spot would be given to someone else and preference is given to those people next year. So please consider helping
us out in our 2003 fair project. While we only plan to operate at less
than half of previous years, your time and financial support are greatly
needed now to make sure even this reduced participation can be accomplished. Those of us who are officers wish we had more time to give to the Party. I will not be able to run for another term as State Chairman because with church, family and my efforts to support them, I can not keep up with the obligations of the Chairman's position. Much of what I would like to do I simply can not because other responsibilities. At our May State Committee Meeting we discussed the need for a paid administrative position. We believe we need a part time (or even better, a full time) Executive Director. But the State Committee feels it would be irresponsible to hire a person and not be able to at least guarantee we could pay the salary for that position for at least one year. That's why you will see on your enclosed Reply Form a line for "Executive Director Pledge." If you believe in the importance of having this position, we are asking you to make a pledge toward the first year's salary of this position. We do not want your money for this now. We need to assess if there is the commitment among our supporters to fund such a position first. Also, your pledge should be with monies over and above your current giving level. It would be pointless to hire such a person if we diverted funds used to pay for normal operating expenses. Our State Committee has taken the lead and collectively pledged $165.00 per month toward the first year's salary of a CPoW Executive Director. Obviously, that amount is not enough, we need your help! Prayerfully consider funding this position with us. Write down a pledge amount you can realistically commit to for one year. Our next State Committee Meeting is in August. We would like to be able to make a decision at that time or even earlier, if possible. Please respond today. Also at our May meeting the State Committee voted to establish a CPoW Federal Account. The new Federal Campaign Finance Law has restrictions that make it necessary for us to operate both Federal and State Party accounts. Regardless of the new federal finance laws, we also want to help our federal candidate's campaign in Wisconsin, which we will be able to do more easily with this federal account. In addition, the State Committee has decided to take advantage of Federal Election rules that prohibit TV stations from censoring a candidate's message and run the controversial, graphic pro-life ads through our Congressional and Senate candidates. We believe these ads will direct large amounts of extra publicity toward our Party and help people remember our message as well as highlight the scourge of abortion on this land. We are seeking eight Congressional candidates and one U.S. Senate candidate willing to stand up to the public controversy this strategy will create. The CP National Committee has established a Campaign Strategies Committee chaired by our own Ed Frami, which is assigned to establish goals for upcoming elections and strategies to meet those goals. Two of the goals the National Party wants to see at the conclusion of the 2004 elections, in addition to higher vote totals and some victories are: 1) Our message be heard and remembered by more voters; and 2) State and local parties are strengthened. To that end, every state will be asked to field more candidates to create more avenues for the message to be heard and the National Party will develop a common campaign message made up of our key, core issues for all CP candidates to use so that a consistent CP message is heard all over the country. The Campaign Strategies Committee also hopes to introduce a Team Campaign Plan under which candidates at all levels work in such a fashion as to affect all our candidates' campaigns positively and multiply our effectiveness. Our State Committee has set a goal of running 50 CPoW candidates in 2004. On your Reply Form is a line to check if you are willing to be a candidate next year. Please give the possibility prayerful consideration and return the form as soon as you do. In closing I would like to forward a message I received by email from a Constitution Party Congressional candidate from Oregon, Mr. David Brownlow. He said some things in his letter that I've been trying to put into words for some time and rather than try to paraphrase I'll just include excerpts of his letter here: It is very encouraging to see that there are so many America-loving patriots left out there who understand the magnitude of the problem we face - that our Constitutional Republic is all but gone and has been replaced by an illusion of a "two-party" democracy. Now that we have decades of trends to evaluate, the undeniable body of evidence points to the fact that America is on an accelerating slide toward socialism and moral collapse, no matter which flavor of the political parties are in charge. In a telling display of arrogance, the Republican controlled "U.S. House of Representatives chose May 1, the National Day of Prayer, to have its first-ever openly homosexual chaplain give its morning invocation." (WORLD Magazine, May 17, 2003). The stench of that "prayer" is going to linger over the Capital for quite some time. There is something far more sinister at work here than just the complete incompetence we have come to expect from our politicians. It is no longer possible to believe that the continual slide of our country in almost every measurable category could be a random event of chance. Spending is out of control and our debt has exploded. Sodomy is celebrated while traditional values are mocked. In the name of fighting terror our freedoms are being trashed. We have kicked God out of every conceivable public place and we have allowed the continued government-sanctioned murder of 4,000 American unborn children every single day. It is very alarming that the pace of the accelerating slide has remained unchecked without regard to whether the Republicans or the Democrats are in charge! This means the take-over of our government is in a far more advanced stage than many of us were willing to admit. I often have to take a step back and wonder, "What have we done to America Lord, what have we done?" And wonder also if there is enough time left to clean up the mess we have made, before the whole system comes apart. A few thoughts: The first thing we all need to do is to get on our knees before God and repent. We need to repent for our disobedience. We need to repent that His people have sat by and done nothing while so many millions of God's precious children have been slaughtered. We need to repent that we have taken the blessings of this great nation and turned it into a country that can no longer even acknowledge Him in a public building or school. Then, we need to pray that our leaders would repent and turn from their wicked ways. The King of Nineveh understood the urgency of the warning Jonah delivered. The King took immediate action and repented - on the very eve of the destruction of Nineveh. We could be that close to a judgment ourselves! Second, we need to alert the sleeping masses, and especially the church, to what has happened to our political system. The facts are clear - decades of trust and loyal commitment to the Republican Party have borne little fruit. That is not Republican bashing and that is not to say that the people who are involved in the Party are insincere. The point is this. It makes absolutely no sense to continue doing the same things that have so clearly failed to produce results. Denial is not going to make the problem go away. The fact is nothing we fought to change has changed, but instead has only gotten worse - under the control of the very people we thought were going to fix it! I don't know about you, but I am not in this fight just to make the bad things happen a little slower. Third, we need to educate the people, and even our own politicians, that our Constitution is still the law of the land. We have every right to demand that those who have been elected to office abide by the oaths they took to defend the Constitution. We also have every right to demand that our leaders reign in the federal courts, which have been wreaking great havoc across the nation. Our Constitution contains clear, unambiguous instructions for the proper role of our government and the courts; and it is a very limited role! It is against the law for elected officials to act in ways that are contrary to the Constitution. We can no longer accept the continuous illegal activities of those we have entrusted to lead us. We are obligated to hold them accountable, but we have held back from telling it like it is for way too long! Being nice has obviously not worked! Fourth, we need to be willing to sacrifice an unknown number of election cycles, since the chances of "second party" candidates winning national elections any time soon seem remote. So we need to let the "greater of two evils" win for a while if necessary, until we can find some real statesmen who are willing to obey the law. Based on past history, "losing" elections will make no difference in our downward slide, so it is irrelevant which candidate from the Dem/Rep party wins. If nothing else, this will flush the enemy out into the open. Fifth, it is rather imperative that those who see clearly what has happened be willing to pull completely out of the fraudulent "two-party" system. We have wasted enough time trying to tinker with it. The time has come to cut our losses and move on. Sixth, we need to continue to speak out on behalf of the unborn. When a government is the leading sponsor in the killing of 42,000,000 people, that government becomes the equivalent of a hostile, foreign occupying force - an occupying force that is apparently intent on our extermination! By funding, participating in and legitimizing the "two-party" charade, we are all part of the problem. The phrase "May God bless America" has become the trite and insincere speech-ending equivalent of "Roger, over and out." A more appropriate phrase would be "May God have mercy on America." Can America awake from the dream world? Enormous obstacles have been laid out in front of us and our success is by no means assured. But the failure of the current system is virtually guaranteed. Our love for America compels us to press on, regardless of the odds. © 2003 David Brownlow
- All Rights Reserved David Brownlow I hope those words inspire each of you the same way they affected me the first time I read them. Did you catch the part in his fourth point about us being the "second Party"? How well put and how true! Will you stand up for freedom? Will you help us turn the tide and support our efforts with your most generous contribution today? Please fill out the enclosed Reply Form and let us know you are willing to take a stand for America by helping the Constitution Party of Wisconsin! For God and Country,
You can also send your contribution directly to the Constitution Party of Wisconsin using the enclosed Reply Form. We will apply the funds to the appropriate fair as needed.
Please remember for those fairs that are already paid, if locally, that came out of someone's pocket. If you can help reimburse their expense that would certainly be appreciated. And if the CPoW paid for it the money came out of our general fund. Since we haven't done a fund-raiser specifically for the fairs until now any contribution you can make, specifically for a fair to help us replenish our account, will also be greatly appreciated. Remember, we have monthly expenses
and other obligations just as you do. Our web site, local and toll-free
phone numbers, liability insurance for the fair booths and even these
mailings all cost money. Your financial support is what keeps the Constitution
Party of Wisconsin working to return government to its Biblical and Constitutionally
defined limits. |
